What’s the deal with living with purpose?
Really the last year has taught me that being on purpose falls and effects every aspect of your life.
That goal setting is a must. Like new years resolutions, they sometimes fall behind the daily happnenings. And we have a hard time squeezing them in. Re-aligning our life to these new and ambitious intentions. And can get you to completion to yeild results. Work to grow incrementally.
What happens when motivation fails?
When you just can’t listen to another Tony Robbin’s video. Or another amazing and so empowering podcast? Even when it helps so much.
Have you ever questioned WHY you do what you do?
Remember Simon Sinek’s book Start With Why, if you haven’t check out his book , I highly reccomend it and his famous TED TALK. The concept of living with a story. He was talking about living with a purpose.
That your purpose becomes so strong and real, you make it part of your every day real life. Changing habits for it. Changing your diet for it. Moving across the country for it.
If and when you follow your purpose, you find those who hold those same ideals, passion, belief and enthusiasm. That kind of tribal connection to community expands your vibrations. The oomph and unyielding belief in something bigger.
THAT’S YOUR WHY.
It’s beyond a new years resolution.
It moves you to take action.
Most people start new years resolutions and don’t finish them. Albeit they are nice ideas and intentions. How do you move from a goal to reality? It motivates you to walk up before the sun. It keeps you alive and moving when days are tough, through sickness, through setbacks.
Still struggling to know your purpose in life?
Here are a few questions to ask yourself to find it.
- What’s something you would fight for?
- What’s something or someone you’d die for?
- When you go to sleep what or who are you grateful for?
If you feel a unhappy or disconnected with these questions, ask yourself what made you feel alive the most when you were a child? What made yourself feel warm inside and that you found joy and fun in? When did you feel at peace?
Take some time to write what fills your heart with joy, fun and peace. These things are a good start. And find a way to make these answers apart of your life. In career, hobbies or your everyday life. When we live on purpose with intention. We decide to let go of the status quo, and do something that sparks joy. Even change our entire outlook for it.
I’m not suggesting you give up everything at once and make radical choices. It can be simple changes, like if you used to love to play tennis and stopped for your career or for family. Maybe find a way to make it part of your life. Or if you used to play music and stopped. To find a way to join a local orchestra.
If you never stopped those things you’ve loved and always made time for your passions. Are you living with joy each day? Maybe you need to slow down instead of add something in. Like 10 minutes to be in the sunshine. Or cutting out a bad habit. Like replace soda or caffine with water. Micro changes. These seamingly small changes can have lasting effects to you staying on your purpose. They effect your fullfillment and gratitude.
When you feel fullfilled. You feel grateful. The energy you give to your purpose is rewarded.
Reward yourself for the progress you make.
Being on purpose is more than being inspired. Inspiration fades. Remember living on purpose changes your life trijectory. It’s something that you will spring out of bed for and keep you moving after decades of work towards.
